The scientific center for collective use "Nanotechnology and functional nanomaterials" was opened by the order of the rector of KSU 鈩1471 of 22.10.2019 to conduct fundamental and applied research in the field of physics of functional nanomaterials, organic electronics and photovoltaics.

The structure of the institute includes 8 laboratories.

The main scientific direction is the study of the generation and dynamics of the charge carriers transport in organic and inorganic functional nanomaterials.

Goals and objectives:

- conducting fundamental and applied research in the field of solar energy and organic electronics;

- training of specialists in the field of scientific activity - bachelors, masters, doctors PhD

- photosensitive polymer semiconductors and composite molecular systems;

- influence of the structural features of photoactive layers on the generation and charge carriers transport in polymer solar cells;

- photoinduced electronic processes in multicomponent photoelectric converters;

- generation and charge carriers transport in perovskite solar cells.
